About Gerri

Gerri is a capable, fun, enthusiastic Scottish woman with a gleaming smile and wonderful abilities of listening, enabling her to be your best resource for your required change. She is someone who immediately makes you feel comfortable – she is easy to be with and easy to talk to.

Gerri was brought up in Scotland and her family was in the hospitality industry so at an early age she worked during her holidays in the family ‘pub’ which was located in one of Glasgow’s roughest areas. This was the beginning of Gerri working with people. In the late 1970’s she qualified and worked in the UK as a nurse. She has continued through her working life in Scotland, England, America, Australia and New Zealand. Being the curious traveller Gerri headed to the States in the early 80s and trained as a croupier working in the casino on board cruise ships, travelling to the Caribbean, Mexico, Vancouver and Alaska.

From the USA Gerri emigrated to Australia in the mid 1980’s, where she continued her time working as a nurse. It was during this time she first heard about NLP. After living in Victoria, Tasmania and Queensland, Gerri returned to Sydney and to the casino industry where she found the NLP tools she’d learned really helped when working at the gaming tables. In her words “a very useful skill to have when dealing with people who may be unhappy, upset and sometimes angry”. The ability to build rapport on an equal level, conflict resolution skills and Win-win philosophy were skills she was very grateful for.

She then moved into the corporate world and worked as an IT asset officer travelling throughout the Asia/Pacific region for a large American company. This role required excellent communication and negotiating skills dealing with people on every level, at times having to say “NO” to a request for new IT equipment as diplomatically as possible while preserving a good working relationship; once again her NLP skills came into play.

Gerri then came to New Zealand in 2003 – and she is very happy to call Tauranga her home and in her words “I have never looked back. I use to come here for holidays a couple of times a year and to visit family, I wanted a lifestyle change and thought to myself why not live in the place that I go on holidays t ,I love it here”. Since coming to NZ & settling in the Bay of Plenty Gerri has worked as a residential sales person in real estate, trained and managed individuals and business teams both nationally and internationally. She has taught NLP for adult education at Tauranga Boys High and spent time and money investing in what she is good at – working with people to support them to effect good, healthy change in their lives.

Gerri is an internationally accredited Master Coach with the International Coaching Institute and offers supervision to NLP Practitioners and Master Practitioners to become accredited coaches.

Gerri McFadden

Gerri makes the pictures of her global life vivid and real when she tells of her many experiences and her many life challenges. A major accident in 2007, the loss of all her savings and assets due to the unethical dealing of a business partner, are some of her personal challenges - and through all of this Gerri smiles and says these experiences have brought her to this place where she is able to be her best more often and enable others to learn these tools as well. She says the common denominator in life and work – is people. Every day she says “we deal with other human beings – their joys, their loves and their challenges”. And through NLP she has learned skills and ways to bring her private and business clients to having better relationships, being more focused and enabling clients to identify their own strategies and decide how they want to ‘do their life’.
